Greater Bridgeport Transit

The Valley Transit District (VTD) operates dial-a-ride service, as well.  This is a complementary ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) service for Individuals with disabilities who live within 3/4 of a mile of Route F fixed route bus service operated by CT Transit – New Haven. NETCO, under the supervision of the Greater Waterbury Transit District, operates the ADA paratransit services within the Waterbury metropolitan area related to the fixed-bus route system. Limited paratransit service is also available to persons within the GWTD area who live beyond the three-quarter mile limit of a fixed bus route.

The NVCOG works directly with the Valley Transit District (VTD) and is responsible for all VTD bus-related activities within the lower Naugatuck Valley municipalities Ansonia, Derby, Seymour and Shelton. The VTD operates a fleet of 14 minibuses on a reserved ride basis. Fares for ADA riders can be no more than twice what is charged on regular fixed route bus service. Additional services are implemented as opportunities arise from federal and state funding programs and sources. Eligible persons may also use the services provided by VTD that extend beyond the regular service municipalities.
